Delete your data

Last updated September 9, 2026

If you connected an Instagram account to AIVAS

You can disconnect your account or request deletion of stored data. These have different effects.

  • In Instagram. Open Instagram, go to Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites, and remove AIVAS. This revokes access in Instagram. We remove the saved connection when we process Instagram's notification. Conversation history is not deleted by disconnecting.
  • In Instagram's data deletion flow. Where Instagram offers to request deletion of your data from an app, use it. Instagram sends us the request and we delete the Instagram data described below. Instagram will show you a confirmation code and a link to a page on this site where you can check that the deletion finished.
  • In AIVAS. Sign in to your workspace, navigate to connected accounts, and disconnect Instagram. That deletes the access token. To delete your conversation history as well, email us at the address below.

What gets deleted

A deletion request made through Instagram removes:

  • your Instagram contact profile in each workspace where you messaged a business through AIVAS
  • your Instagram conversations and messages in those workspaces, in both directions
  • media attachments and associated processing records received in those conversations

The request does not disconnect a business's Instagram account or delete another person's conversations.

The confirmation page shows the status of the request. Deletion may not complete immediately, and backup copies may remain until removed through the applicable backup retention process.

If you messaged a business that uses AIVAS

The business you messaged controls that conversation. Ask them to delete it, or write to us at the address below with the Instagram account you messaged and we will pass the request on and act on it.
